Our package fits through a standard mailbox
Our packaging fits through the standard legally approved mailbox that almost everyone in the Netherlands has. At PostNL service points in the Netherlands you can find a sample model of an approved mailbox. There both sender and recipient can measure what “letter mail” must comply with. This is based on the minimum legal size of a mailbox. Our packaging is also based on this.
Please note: draft excluders and mailbox brushes may reduce the size of your mailbox, making it possible that the package no longer fits.
The Dutch government and PostNL specify the following legal mailbox size:
“This is placed horizontally and is at least 26.5 cm wide and 3.2 cm high.”
Are you unsure about the size of your mailbox? Do not hesitate to contact us. Together we can find the best solution to get your package delivered at your home. Unless we are notified otherwise, we assume the above mailbox sizes.
There are still mailboxes with a depth of less than 32 cm (for example Brabantia). In that case, the package may not land properly inside the box. The mail should be able to pass easily through the slot. Rubber strips, spring-loaded flaps, or stiff draft brushes may prevent the package from passing through easily. In such cases, the delivery person will take the package back.
Exceptions
In the following cases your order will not be sent as a mailbox package:
Order amount above €180
When the total order amount exceeds €180, the order will be shipped as registered mail. This package requires a personal signature. This means the delivery person may not put the package through your mailbox, even if its dimensions would allow it. The package also may not be delivered to your neighbors.
Order larger than 12 products
If your order contains more than 12 bags in total, it can no longer be guaranteed that your order will fit into two mailbox boxes. In that case, we will send your order in a large box as a registered parcel.
Shipments to Belgium and Germany
Orders to Belgium and Germany are shipped with DPD. These parcels are also always sent as registered mail. The DPD courier must offer the package to you personally. Therefore, these parcels are often not placed in the mailbox, even if their dimensions would allow it.
